00 — Origin

Three years of drag.Zero loss of altitude.

The Orbit Society is an independent streetwear label built in the open — 1,100 days of sampling, rejected fabric lots, sold-out drops and rebuilt patterns. We engineer garments the way you engineer a craft that has to survive re-entry: to specification, tested to failure, documented in full.

01 — Build log

It started with a garment nobody would make for us.

2023

Two people, one rejected fabric lot

We wanted a 320 GSM tee that held its shape after forty washes. Eleven mills said the volume was too small. The twelfth agreed, then delivered a lot that pilled in a week. We wrote off the entire run and started again — documenting every wash test in public.

2024

312 samples before a single drop

Eighteen months of pattern revisions on four silhouettes. A raglan seam moves 6mm between sizes; acid wash is chemistry, not luck. The first collection sold out in 41 hours to 900 people who had watched it being built.

2025—26

A label, then a society

18,400 members across 27 countries, still no outside capital. Every drop is voted on, every fit tested by the people who wear it, and every garment ships with the sample log that produced it.

02 — Operating rules

Beyond trends. Beyond Earth.

Ten words govern every decision we make — what we cut, what we kill, what we refuse to discount. They are not brand adjectives; they are the checklist a sample clears before it becomes a garment.

Rule 01

Small runs, no restocks

Scarcity by production reality, not marketing theatre. We cut what we can finish properly.

Rule 02

The wearer reviews the fit

Every silhouette goes to 40 members before production. Their notes are published in full.

03 — Trajectory

Milestones, in order of difficulty.

2023

Wrote off the first run

400 units scrapped for pilling. Zero revenue, one very specific lesson about mill audits.

2024

First drop, out in 41h

Four silhouettes, 900 orders, no paid media. The sample log shipped in every box.

2025

Own pattern room

Grading moved in-house. Sample turnaround dropped from 26 days to 9.

2026

18,400 members, 27 countries

Still independent. Still no wholesale. Next: a repair programme for every garment sold.

04 — Craft & materials

Specification is the design.

Material 01

320 GSM combed cotton

Compacted and pre-shrunk. Under 3% shrinkage across forty domestic washes.

0wash cycles
Material 02

Graded raglan geometry

Seam angle re-plotted per size, so the shoulder lands the same on every body.

0fit testers
Material 03

Controlled acid wash

Recipe-logged, water-recycled runs. Every fade is reproducible, not accidental.

05 — Crew

Four people. No middle layer.
